About Us We’re a modern Japanese\-inspired restaurant looking for a strong cook who can take ownership of the kitchen. Japanese food experience is a plus, but the most important qualities are organization, consistency, cleanliness, accountability, and teamwork. Position Summary We’re hiring a Cook / Kitchen Lead who can help manage the daily flow of the kitchen, stay on top of prep, support weekly ordering, and help keep food cost and food waste under control. This role is for someone who understands that a successful kitchen is built on clean systems, strong communication, proper storage, and consistent execution. Responsibilities * Execute prep and service with consistency and attention to detail * Take ownership of kitchen organization, station setup, and daily readiness * Help with weekly ordering and communicate inventory needs before items run out * Work with the team to manage food cost, reduce waste, and improve prep efficiency * Monitor product usage, storage, portions, and spoilage to help control waste * Maintain proper labeling, FIFO, storage, and walk\-in organization * Keep prep lists updated and make sure the kitchen is ready for service * Follow recipes, specs, portioning, and plating standards * Maintain strong sanitation and food safety standards * Support opening and closing duties * Communicate clearly with management and the team about prep, ordering, inventory, and kitchen needs * Help keep the kitchen clean, stocked, and organized at all times Requirements * Kitchen/cook experience required * Japanese food experience is a plus * Experience with ordering, inventory, food cost, or waste control is a plus * Strong prep skills and basic knife skills preferred * Highly organized and able to take ownership of systems * Reliable, punctual, and accountable * Calm under pressure and able to work clean during busy service * Team\-first attitude with strong communication skills How to Apply Apply with your resume and a short note about your co
