Job description

**Job Summary** We are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented Mechanic Assistant to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will support experienced heavy equipment and vehicle mechanics by assisting with repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance across a variety of machinery and automotive systems. Your energetic approach and mechanical aptitude will contribute to keeping our fleet and equipment operating at peak performance, ensuring safety and efficiency on every job site. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in heavy equipment operation, automotive repair, and industrial machinery maintenance within a fast\-paced environment. **Duties** * Assist with the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals * Support mechanics in performing vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and transmission servicing * Help with the assembly, disassembly, and welding of equipment components to facilitate repairs or upgrades * Operate power tools and hand tools safely to perform routine maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols * Conduct basic diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and diesel engines to identify issues for further repair * Assist in maintaining detailed service records, repair logs, and maintenance schedules for all equipment and vehicles * Support heavy lifting operations using appropriate lifting equipment such as cranes or forklifts while following safety standards **Skills** * Proven experience working in a dealership environment or with heavy machinery is highly preferred * Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems * Hands\-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and sold
