Job description
**Overview**
Very rare small team Private practice opportunity! Our beloved Perio expert of 15 years is beginning to reduce her hours and we are looking for someone to ramp up and add to the team as she prepares to retire. 1 hour hygiene appointments, SRP 45min\-1 hour a quad, variable as needed by the patient. Dedicated hygiene room. Dental Laser certification ideal. 1hour lunch breaks. underground parking, building also has gym and free espresso.
**Duties**
* Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
* Conduct thorough patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
* Probe and recommend periodontal therapy, oral hygiene practices, and identify tissue type
* Oral cancer screenings
* **Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post\-treatment care to promote long\-term health.**
* Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft , ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and patient information.
* Support the dental team by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during procedures.
* Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation with integrity
* **Requirements**
* Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
* Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in dental terminology and clinical procedures.
* Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient recordkeeping.
* Knowledge of dental specialties including orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance standards.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with the dental team.
* Positive attitude and outgoing personality trumps all work experience.
