Join the Founding Team at Liberated School House! **Full\-Time Preschool Teacher** **Portland Heights, Portland, OR** **$21–$24/hour \| Full\-Time \| Year\-Round** Liberated School House is a new, home\-based Montessori preschool opening in **September 2026** in the beautiful Portland Heights neighborhood. We are creating a warm, inclusive, and thoughtfully prepared learning environment where children are encouraged to become confident, compassionate, and independent learners. We are currently seeking **two full\-time teachers** to join our founding team. Teachers who are fluent in Spanish and/or Mandarin are encouraged to apply. **This position will begin in September, 2026** If you are passionate about early childhood education, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and are excited to help build a new school from the ground up, we'd love to meet you! Responsibilities * Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. * Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. * Help maintain a beautiful, organized classroom. * Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. * Collaborate with the Head of School to implement Montessori principles and daily routines. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required * Experience working with children from infancy through age 5 required * Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before employment) * Ability to pass a background check * Montessori experience is a plus, but **not required**. We are happy to train candidates who are eager to learn and embrace the Montessori philosophy. * Fluency in **Spanish** or **Mandarin** is strongly preferred for the respective positions.
