Host/Hostess

**Position Summary** The Restaurant Host is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth guest flow. As the first and last point of contact, the Host plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the overall efficiency of the restaurant. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: * Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave. * Manage reservations and walk\-ins using Toast Tables. * Maintain an organized and accurate waitlist during peak hours. * Coordinate with servers and bussers to optimize table seating. * Answer questions about menu items, restaurant policies, and wait times. * Answer phone calls and assist callers with reservations, and general questions. * Monitor and restock host station supplies, including menus and promotional materials. * Assist in light cleaning tasks, including cleaning menu covers. * Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and other staff to ensure smooth operations. * Perform other duties as directed. **Minimum Qualifications** * Previous hosting experience required, fine dining experience preferred. * CA Food Handler certification required (or ability to obtain prior to starting). * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to handle busy shifts in a calm and professional manner. * Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. **Physical Demands and Work Environment**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
