The purpose and mission of Animal Care Services is advocating animal welfare, adoption, and rescue. The agency does this by protecting and promoting the health, safety, and welfare of pets and livestock in Marion County. The agency is able to do this by cultivating a productive, collaborative, and compliant work environment in order for our workforce to meet the needs of the constituents of Indianapolis and Marion County. **Job Summary**
Position is responsible for the day\-to\-day care and treatment of the animals that are brought to the shelter. Position will perform duties pertaining to kennel maintenance, custodial responsibilities, and maintaining a disease\-free environment for animals at the facility. Interacts with the public, fellow staff, community service, and volunteers professionally and with exceptional customer service. Is expected to work safely and maintain a consistency with ACCD vision and mission statements and beliefs, policy, and procedures. * Provides enrichment and socialization for dogs and cats.
* Responsible for Kennel maintenance.
* Cleans and disinfects the kennels.
* Responsible for feeding and direct care of animals.
* Moves animals within the facility.
* Responsible for custodial duties.
* Communicates appropriate information to the public.
* Follows standard operating procedures.
* Handles animals properly.
