**About Us**
At Central Texas Mobile Fleet Services, we bring the shop to the customer. Specializing in commercial fleet maintenance, medium\- and heavy\-duty truck repairs, and roadside assistance across the Greater Austin area, our mission is to keep local businesses moving. We are seeking a skilled, self\-motivated Mobile Diesel Mechanic with 4 to 6 years of hands\-on experience to join our field operations team.
**Role Overview**
Operating an assigned company service truck, you will perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency roadside repairs on commercial diesel fleets across Central Texas—troubleshooting engines, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems directly on\-site.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Diagnostics \& Repairs: Use computer software to diagnose and repair diesel engines, air brakes, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems.
* PM \& Roadside Calls: Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs), DOT inspections, and emergency roadside service along major local corridors (I\-35, TX\-130, US\-183\).
* Truck \& Field Management: Maintain your assigned service truck inventory, complete job paperwork accurately, and communicate directly with shop operations team.
* Safety \& Compliance: Enforce strict OSHA, DOT, and environmental safety standards during all field repairs, hot\-work, and roadside lane closures.
* Parts Management \& Sourcing: Identify required repair parts, place orders working with shop operations manager, local suppliers to help with effiecient time management while on field.
* Customer Support \& Estimates: Provide clear, professional cost estimates and repair timelines to shop operations team prior to beginning major field work
**Experience**
* Proven experience working with heavy equipment mechanics, Heavy Duty Trucks in a mobile or field service setting.
* Hands\-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques.
