Job description

If you've worked in another trade and you're looking for steady work that matters, we'd like to talk to you. We'll teach you weatherization. You bring a solid work ethic and pride in doing the job right, and we'll handle the rest. **About us** Resilient Retrofits helps Portland homeowners make their homes healthier, more comfortable, and cheaper to run. We follow a **“Fix the Home First”** approach, which means we seal and insulate the building before we talk about new heating or cooling equipment. It's real work with a real impact on the people we serve. **What you'll do** ● Air sealing: caulking, foam, weatherstripping, and closing up the gaps that leak air and waste energy ● Install insulation (blown\-in attics, dense\-pack walls, batts, rim joist) ● Install and replace windows and doors, including flashing, sealing, and finishing the openings ● Patch and repair drywall after dense\-pack drilling, fan and duct cut\-ins, and electrical work, then finish it clean ● Work in attics and crawlspaces (we'll be honest about that in a minute) ● Set up and protect the job site, document your work with photos, and keep things tidy ● Understand the building science behind the work, not just the steps **You'll probably be a good fit if you've worked as a:** **Window or door installer, drywaller, roofer, framer, carpenter, painter, HVAC helper, solar installer, landscaper, mover, mechanic, or general laborer.** ● If you've hung windows or doors or finished drywall, you already know part of this job. ● You're used to ladders, heat, and tight spaces. That covers most of the work. ● You're good with tools. We'll teach you the ones specific to weatherization. ● You take care when you're working inside someone's home. ● You can read a tape measure and follow a spec. You don't need any weatherization or building science background. If you've never heard of a blower door, that's fine. You'll learn. **What we offer** ● **$30\-$45/hr** depending on experience, with
