Maintenance Assistant

Principal Responsibilities: TECHNICAL * Ensures a safe, comfortable, sanitary environment for residents, staff and visitors in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate requirements. * Performs preventative maintenance procedures. * Requires full range of body motion. ADMINISTRATIVE * Maintains equipment necessary to meet Center needs. * Understands department budget. * Maintains written records and documents of services performed according to Federal, Sate and Corporate requirements. * May train personnel to meet Center needs. * Participates in assigned meetings and in\-services. SUPERVISORY * May assume role of Director in his absence. QUALIFICATIONS * One year experience in a long term care center preferred. * Ability to read and write English for business necessity. Bilingual preferred. * Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs. * One year experience in basic trades preferred. * Working knowledge of plant support systems (cooling/heating, emergency systems) preferred. CONSUMER SERVICE * Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech. * Adheres to company standards for resolving consumer concerns. * Ensures that all consumer/resident rights are protected.
