Job description
We're looking for a seasoned Construction Estimator to join a growing commercial general contractor in NC, FL and TX. This is a chance to lead precon efforts on projects up to $15M across healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors, working closely with trade partners, architects, and clients from the earliest stages of a project through award.
**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
* Prepare cost estimates and forecasts by reviewing drawings and specs, gathering data, and attending site visits ahead of submission deadlines
* Build out full CSI division cost breakdowns along with written assumptions and clarifications
* Factor in materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation when putting together estimates
* Determine project resource needs based on cost estimates and budget constraints
* Analyze project timelines and durations
* Develop and publish complete bid packages for trade partners and vendors, including scopes of work, alternates, and allowances
* Qualify and level trade partner and vendor bids for full scope coverage
* Review costs internally and with clients to help close out successful project awards
* Lead estimating on design bid build projects, including hard bids and GC plus fee work
* Mentor interns, coordinators, and assistant estimators
* Get involved with industry organizations like Associated Builders and Contractors
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
* 10\+ years in commercial construction
* Track record estimating projects up to $15M, ideally in healthcare, financial, or light industrial
* Comfortable managing 2\+ projects at once in a fast paced environment
* Strong problem solving, communication, and time management skills
* Proficient in estimation software, MS Office, and blueprint reading
* Solid grasp of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites and pre bid v
