This onsite role is based in Raleigh, NC, reporting directly to the Field Services Supervisor. The position requires flexible availability throughout the week. Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Comply with prescribed safety procedures or regulations; includes understanding of safety equipment requirements and proper use and care of PPE.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be able to wear a Respirator / SCBA.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Will be part of a rotating ER team that is on call 24/7 for one week at a time.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Out of town travel will be required.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Decontamination work ranging from lab spaces to pits and tanks in industrial settings.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Confined space entry – must be able to read and understand 4-5 gas meters.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Practice safety awareness by thinking defensively, anticipating unsafe situations, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Ability to operate a pickup truck with a small tow behind trailer.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Load or unload materials into containers or onto trucks by hand or using equipment.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Remove or limit contamination following emergencies involving hazardous substances.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Maintain good housekeeping in all areas.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner to customers, suppliers, regulators, and the public.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Carry out daily job tasks assigned by Lead.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Perform other tasks as needed in the best interest of the company.</li> </ul> Basic Requirements:  <ul> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">High School Diploma or equivalent.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must have excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be able to complete and maintain OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training and Confined Space Entry & Rescue certification.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Current driver’s license with clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Company’s current auto insurance carrier preferred.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must have a reliable form of transportation.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC). </li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. </li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis. </li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Ability to work overtime on a regular basis. </li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week. </li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts. </li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">The Field Services Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive. </li> </ul> Preferred Requirements: <ul> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">One (1) + year(s) experience with relevant industry experience.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Basic knowledge of chemicals and their interactions and danger signs.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. This is not solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.</li> <li style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;">The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.</li> </ul> Working Conditions:  Lab spaces, warehouses and field environments with local and out of town travel on roads and highways during all weather conditions.
