In this role you will work on various structural design projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a Designer you will </span><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and supporting calculations / documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients. <strong><em>Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply!&nbsp;</em></strong></span></p> <h5>Location</h5> <p>This position will be based in our Boston, Massachusetts office.</p> <h5><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The Impact You Will Have</span></h5> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Collect and assimilate data and&nbsp;perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Draw design details under direction of Project Managers.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Coordinate drafting of an element.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Perform field or site visits as needed.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.</span></li> </ul> <h5><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">What You Will Need</span></h5> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks. </span> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The position may include the need to perform Field Inspection and may require travel to project sites.&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Detailed, and organized individual who thrives in environments that are deadline driven.&nbsp;</span></li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mass.gov/doc/h4890-signing/download">Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act </a>. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
