Job description
**Posting Note:** Now Hiring: Part\-Time Weekend Medical Assistant – Emergency Department
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric Emergency Department team in a dedicated weekend administrative MA support role.
Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (20 hours/week). This is a permanent weekend position.
Preferred Experience
Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required.
Pediatric experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with phone triage, communicating with families, medication refill requests, laboratory/culture follow\-up, and coordinating provider recommendations.
Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to effectively support families in a fast\-paced environment.
This is a primarily administrative Medical Assistant role with no direct patient care responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Education
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP, ABHES, or another school approved by the Department of Education, OR
Current Medical Assistant certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) in lieu of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certifications
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Professionals from the American Heart Association is required.
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) ) is required within 90 days of employment to remain in the position. Candidates eligible to obtain certification within 90 days are encouraged to apply.
