Job description

**Position**: Medical Assistant **Location**: 6835 E Southport Road, Suite D Indianapolis, IN 46237 **Hours**: Full Time; Week Days **Direct** **Supervisor**: Crystal Wiles FNP\-C **Office** **Manager**: Caleb Wiles **Job Description** * Provide direct patient care including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, performing phlebotomy, performing point of care testing, and reconciling patient medication lists. * Perform basic clerical duties such as answering the phone, responding to emails, maintaining records, and filing. * Help manage efficient flow of provider’s caseload. * Manage daily cleaning and stocking of patient rooms and ancillary spaces * Provide friendly service to patients and business partners via phone, electronically, and in person. * Perform patient registration duties * Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills * Enter patient information into an electronic medical records system * Use systems to produce and conduct referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other related duties **Requirements** * High school diploma * Valid Driver’s license with reliable transportation **Qualifications** * Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred * Must be empathetic, courteous, warm, and friendly * Must be dependable and self\-motivated * Must be able to maintain composure even in very difficult situations * Knowledge of hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures preferred but not required. Training provided * Customer service skills * Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities * Understanding of patient handling techniques * Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology Job Type: Part\-time Medical Specialty: * Primary Care Education: * High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: * EMR systems: 1
