In 2014, we became a Federally Qualified Health Center to offer an expanded range of health and wellness services for anyone and everyone who is seeking healthcare services in Greater New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana. **Our Mission** Strengthening our entire community through whole\-person healthcare and education. **Position Summary** The Medical Assistant (MA) has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment and the Mobile Medical Unit. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The MA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the provider when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The MA reports to the nursing supervisor/manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the MA to the area’s policies and procedures. **Key Duties and Responsibilities** * Delivers quality patient care. * Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation. * Assists with inventory and medication management. * Maintains a safe and compliant clinic environment. * Maintains examination rooms and areas between patient appointments as needed. * Manages patient flow. * Promotes teamwork, good interpersonal relations, and communication. **Qualifications** **Education** * The minimum education level required for the position is High School Diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, community college, and /or vocational school. **Experience** * A minimum of 2 years in the clinic setting required. **Other** * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * Louisiana Driver’s License required. * Must possess skills in de\-escalation, using trauma info
