Diesel Bus Mechanic, Class A

David Thomas Trailways is looking for a full\-time experienced diesel mechanic/manager, working with small to large motorcoaches and school buses. David Thomas Trailways has the newest fleet in the Philadelphia area, offering excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and the opportunity to advance. **Requirements:** ● 3\+ years of diesel mechanic experience on motorcoaches or school buses ● Knowledge of DOT inspection requirements ● Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job ● Can work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function ● A valid driver’s license (CDL would be a plus) ● A high school diploma or its equivalent ● Good communication skills ● Physically fit and able to lift up to 75 pounds ● Current PA Inspection License or willingness to obtain one ● Willing to submit to a pre\-employment drug screening and background check **Responsibilities:** This position reports directly to the maintenance director. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. These include but are not limited to: ● Conducts safety checks on vehicles ● Inspects vehicles and performs preventive maintenance ● Performs diagnostic tests on company vehicles to find faults, analyzing diagnostic test results and repairing or replacing damaged components ● Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate and complete repairs ● Repairs all defective components including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, suspension, hvac, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment ● Maintains records of services performed ● Performs emergency service calls when needed ● Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures Pay commensurate with experience Benefits including
