**Role Summary**
We are recruiting for a Class 1 (C\+E) HGV LowLoader Driver to join our transport and logistics team. The successful person will safely operate articulated HGVs with lowloader trailers to deliver, collect and position plant and machinery to customer sites and depots. This role requires professional vehicle operation, correct load‑securing practices, good route planning and a customer‑focused approach.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Drive Class 1 (C\+E) vehicles and lowloader combinations safely and lawfully on public roads and within customer sites.
* Load, secure and unload plant, machinery and equipment using appropriate chains, straps, slings, wheel chocks and other approved methods in line with company procedures and manufacturer guidance.
* Carry out pre‑start, en‑route and post‑shift vehicle and trailer inspections; complete driver vehicle checklists and report defects or damage promptly.
* Plan routes to meet schedules, taking account of vehicle dimensions, bridge and weight restrictions, height limitations and site access constraints.
* Operate ramps, ramp systems and deck adjustments safely; assist with guidance of plant during loading/unloading where required.
* Comply with site rules, customer inductions and method statements; identify hazards and apply controls when working around plant, pedestrians and live traffic.
* Complete accurate paperwork and electronic records including delivery notes, vehicle defect reports, timesheets and site sign‑in documentation.
* Communicate professionally with depot staff, site personnel and customers to confirm delivery details, site requirements and any issues affecting operations.
