Job description
Lead Software Engineer, Front End***Capital One Travel is building a brand\-new product area inside Emerging Verticals — a true greenfield*** **bet within the fastest\-growing credit card travel portal in the US. You won’t be optimizing an existing product, instead, you’ll be designing and shipping high\-impact systems from scratch and defining the technical foundation for a category we expect to scale into a multi\-billion\-dollar market operation.**
**This is a rare pitch for true technical ownership. You’ll join a small, entrepreneurial team that is pioneering AI\-native development — using tools like Claude to spec, prototype, build, and QA across many surfaces at 10x speed — all backed by Capital One’s massive distribution engine. ***What You’ll Do***
* **Build new, customer\-facing products and platform services from the ground up across the full stack — from data and APIs through to the experiences customers touch.**
* **Work AI\-natively: use modern AI tooling to prototype, generate, test, and ship features across many different areas and surfaces at a pace traditional teams can’t match.**
* **Partner directly with product, design, business, and external supply/partner contacts — translating real\-world business needs into technical solutions and owning them end\-to\-end.**
* **Lead a portfolio of fast\-moving projects and help set the engineering bar for a new team, mentoring others and raising the standard for AI\-accelerated delivery.**
* **Make pragmatic architecture decisions for systems that need to scale quickly and reliably as the vertical grows.**
* **Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript and Java, open source frameworks, RESTful web services, and work on cross\-browser and cross\-device development**
