Job description
Teach beginner to intermediate swim lessons for children (infants to 12 years) following Jump Swim School curriculum standards. Deliver safe, fun, skill\-focused lessons that build water confidence, stroke basics, and aquatic independence while maintaining a positive, inclusive environment for families.
**We welcome applicants with teaching experience and those new to swim instruction — full training and mentorship provided.**
**Key responsibilities**
\- Deliver 30 minute structured swim lessons for small groups and one\-on\-one lessons across age ranges (0–3, 3–5, 5–8, 8–12\).
\- Follow Jump Swim School lesson plans and progression goals; adapt activities to each child’s skill level.
\- Teach water\-safety, breath control, floating, kicking, basic strokes and entry/exit skills.
\- Conduct pre\-lesson checks (equipment, pool safety, roster) and keep post\-lesson progress notes.
\- Manage class behaviour with positive reinforcement and age\-appropriate coaching techniques.
\- Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress, home practice tips and bookings.
\- Maintain pool safety standards: supervise deck, enforce rules, and respond to incidents per centre protocols.
\- Assist with swim school administration: class sign\-in, attendance tracking, waitlist management, and occasional front\-desk duties.
\- Provide excellent customer service: welcome families, handle enquiries and bookings professionally, resolve minor complaints, and escalate issues to management when needed.
\- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and in\-service coaching.
\- Support local promotion when requested (community events, open days).
**Training \& support for new applicants**
\- Paid in\-centre induction covering Jump Swim School curriculum, lesson planning, child behaviour management, pool safety and emergency procedures.
\- Mentored practical teaching assessments with senior staff.
\- Access to subsidised formal qualifications and ongoing professional develo
