Job description
Inspire Curiosity. Honor Childhood. Build the Future.
For nearly 50 years, **The Acorn – A School for Young Children** has inspired children through play, exploration, and discovery. As we expand into the elementary years, we remain committed to providing a developmentally appropriate, nature\-based education that nurtures children's academic, social, emotional, and creative growth.
At The Acorn, we believe childhood should be celebrated—not rushed. Our students learn in a **screen\-free environment** where strong academics are thoughtfully integrated with project\-based learning, outdoor exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships. Small class sizes and close partnerships with families allow every child to be known, supported, and challenged.
Position Summary
The Acorn is seeking an exceptional **Second Grade Teacher** to join our growing elementary program in San Antonio, Texas.
This is an opportunity for an educator who wants to do more than deliver a curriculum. We are looking for a teacher who creates engaging, hands\-on learning experiences, builds a joyful classroom community, and inspires children to become curious thinkers, confident learners, and compassionate community members.
The Second Grade Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering standards\-aligned instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies while honoring each child's developmental needs. The teacher will assess student progress, differentiate instruction, maintain strong communication with families, and collaborate closely with colleagues to support the continued growth of our elementary program.
Our Educational Approach

* Developmentally appropriate, child\-centered instruction
* Project\-based and interdisciplinary learning
