The **Pediatric Intensive Care Unit** (PICU) at **Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital** is a newly expanded, state\-of\-the\-art 24\-bed unit designed to provide the highest level of critical care for our most complex pediatric patients. This expansion enhances our ability to serve the community by offering cutting\-edge technology, improved patient visibility, and optimized access to care.
With family\-centered care as a priority, our unit includes an expanded family lounge with designated pods for respite, as well as private in\-room bathrooms to better support families during their child's hospitalization. The modernized layout is designed to promote healing and well\-being for both patients and caregivers in a calming, supportive environment.
As the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Centerin the greater Charlotte region, our PICU provides a full spectrum of advanced critical care services, including:
* Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
* Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) \& Aquadex
* Advanced pulmonary support(including all forms of invasive and non\-invasive ventilation)
* Organ transplant
* Neurosurgical procedures
* Hematology\-Oncology care
* Comprehensive trauma services
