Job description
**WHO WE ARE**
Crestmont School is a nonprofit, nonsectarian co\-operative school nestled in the scenic hills of Richmond, California. Founded in 1969, we’ve spent more than 50 years cultivating a learning community where children become critical thinkers, skillful collaborators, and courageous, change\-making citizens.
Our co\-op structure is at the heart of everything we do. Teachers and families work side by side, sharing voice and responsibility for our school community. We believe education is most powerful when it is responsive, relational, and rooted in justice — and our curriculum reflects that belief at every grade level.
At Crestmont, social justice and social emotional learning are not add\-ons. They are woven into everything\-from how we teach Spanish to how we resolve conflict in the classroom. We celebrate and honor the diverse cultures and perspectives of our community, and we’re deeply committed to welcoming children, families, and faculty who reflect the rich diversity of the Bay Area. Our community also fosters self\-awareness, empathy, resilience, and positive relationships, helping students thrive both academically and personally.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
We’re looking for a warm, passionate, and culturally engaged Spanish teacher to join our community and bring language learning to life across our TK–8th grade program. This is a role for someone who understands that language is culture — and that teaching Spanish is an opportunity to open children’s hearts and minds to the world beyond their own experience.
You’ll work with students across a range of ages and abilities, adapting your approach to meet each learner where they are — whether through song, movement, storytelling, or hands\-on play. You’ll collaborate closely with classroom teachers, integrate social justice themes into your curriculum, and contribute to the vibrant, caring community that makes Crestmont special.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
