Job description
**Job Title:** Part\-Time Lead Teacher – Behavioral Management Specialist, Children's Program
**Location:** Community LINC, Children’s Program 4012 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64110
**Job Summary:** We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and enthusiastic Lead Teacher with expertise in behavioral management to join our Children's Program. This part\-time role focuses on providing structured support and guidance for children experiencing homelessness and trauma, with an emphasis on promoting positive behavioral and emotional development. The Lead Teacher will work collaboratively with the Children’s Program team to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that encourages growth, learning, and resilience in our young participants.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Behavioral Support \& Classroom Management:**
* Lead group activities and individual sessions with children to encourage positive behaviors and social skills.
* Develop and implement behavioral management strategies tailored to each child’s unique needs and experiences.
* Provide proactive, trauma\-informed guidance to children, helping them navigate emotions and behaviors in healthy ways.
* Model and promote positive conflict resolution and coping techniques within the classroom environment.
* **Program Development \& Implementation:**
* Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Children's Services and other staff to plan and execute engaging, therapeutic activities that align with program goals.
* Help create and adapt program curriculum to support emotional and behavioral development effectively.
* Support the evaluation of program impact and adapt approaches based on feedback and observed outcomes.
* **Collaboration \& Communication:**
* Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and volunteers to maintain a unified and supportive environment for children.
* Communicate regularly with the Children’s Program Coordinator regarding student progress, challenges, and program needs.
