They have built a strong reputation for operational excellence, quality craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to safety.</p><p>As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced<span> </span><strong>Construction Accountant</strong><span> </span>to support their expanding operations and ensure accurate financial management of construction projects.</p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>The Construction Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial performance of construction projects through accurate job costing, project accounting, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and revenue recognition. This position requires someone with direct construction accounting experience who can quickly contribute in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Manage job cost accounting for multiple construction projects.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and maintain accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.</p></li><li><p>Monitor project budgets, costs, billings, and overall project profitability.</p></li><li><p>Perform project accounting and financial analysis throughout the project lifecycle.</p></li><li><p>Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards.</p></li><li><p>Reconcile project costs and investigate budget variances.</p></li><li><p>Partner with project managers and operations teams to provide financial reporting and project insights.</p></li><li><p>Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.</p></li><li><p>Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate financial data within a construction ERP system.</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain reporting tools using Microsoft Excel.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience in construction accounting.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of:</p><ul><li><p>Job costing</p></li><li><p>Project accounting</p></li><li><p>Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules</p></li><li><p>Revenue recognition</p></li><li><p>Project profitability reporting</p></li><li><p>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.</p></li><li><p>Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience with a construction ERP system.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Vista ERP is a plus but not required.</p></li></ul><p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p><p>We're seeking a hands-on accounting professional who understands the unique financial demands of the construction industry.
