Elementary School Teacher

Description: The British International School of New York (New York, NY) is seeking an Elementary School Teacher. The successful applicant will deliver lessons in English, social studies, mathematics, science, technology, and personal and social education to Elementary School age children Grades 1 to 5\. Specifically, duties will include the following responsibilities: * Preparing appropriate curriculum and applying that curriculum as prepared and approved * Assigning and reviewing homework * Reinforcing students’ social and academic progress * Evaluating student progress, recording results, and issuing reports to inform parents of progress * Keeping attendance records * Participating in all teacher and parent meetings as designated * Maintaining discipline in the classroom * Contacting parents to offer positive reinforcement regarding social and academic achievements made by the students Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. The successful candidate must have two (2\) years of experience as an Elementary School Teacher, which includes two (2\) years of experience with the following: * Teaching the English National Curriculum Salary Amount/Range $61,870 \- $98,000/year. Requirements: * Must be authorized to work in the United States * Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Biology or related field * Minimum 3 years experience teaching High School Biology * A\-level Biology curriculum content or equivalent expereince preferred
