Caregiver for Child with Autism

My amazing 12\-year\-old son has autism. He is verbal, communicates his wants and needs, and is bright, funny, loving, loyal, and kind. While he struggles with social skills, he enjoys biking, swimming, trampoline parks, Slick City, parks, and community outings. This position is much more than childcare. We are looking for someone to intentionally teach and reinforce **daily living skills, social skills, safety, communication, regulation, and other speech goals** through structured community outings and everyday experiences. You'll use real\-life situations to help him build independence, problem\-solving skills, appropriate social interactions, and confidence. We are a Christian family and truly appreciate people who want to invest in our son's growth and future. I'm looking for someone who is reliable, patient, hardworking, organized, a fast learner, confident with behavior management, and interested in building a long\-term relationship (1 year minimum). A reliable vehicle is required, as you'll transport him into the community while implementing his individualized goals. **Two scheduling options are available:** **Option 1:** Sunday **11:00 a.m.\-6:30 p.m.** and **school pickup Monday\-Wednesday 2:30\-7:30 p.m.** *(Needs to live near Loop 101 and I\-17 or SR\-51 since school is around there.)* **Option 2:** Sunday **11:00 a.m.\-7:30 p.m.** and Monday\-Wednesday **4:15/4:30 p.m.\-8:00/8:15 p.m.** Experience working with children with autism is required. This position is an excellent résumé builder for students or professionals pursuing careers in **education, special education, speech\-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA, psychology, counseling, social work, child development, or related fields.** I have mentored many students over the years and have professional connections in these fields.
