**The Advent School \| Boston, MA**
The Advent School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate **After\-School Music Teacher** to lead engaging music enrichment classes for students in Pre\-Kindergarten through Grade 6 during the **2026–2027 academic year**.
This is an exciting opportunity for a music educator who enjoys inspiring young children through singing, movement, rhythm, instrument exploration, and creative expression. The successful candidate will design developmentally appropriate, hands\-on music experiences that foster confidence, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for music in a joyful after\-school environment.
Position Details
* **Position Type:** Part\-Time
* **Compensation:** $25 to $30 per hour
* **Location:** The Advent School, Boston, MA
* **Duration:** September 2026 through June 2027
**Preferred Availability:**
* Monday–Thursday: 3:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
* Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
While candidates with broader availability are preferred, we welcome applications from instructors who can commit to teaching one or more days per week.
Responsibilities
Music Instruction
* Lead engaging, hands\-on music focus classes for students in Pre\-Kindergarten through Grade 6\.
* Teach foundational music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, tempo, dynamics, form, and musical expression.
* Foster students' creativity and confidence through singing, movement, rhythm games, improvisation, and collaborative music\-making.
* Introduce students to a variety of musical genres, cultures, and traditions.
* Adapt instruction to meet the developmental needs, interests, and skill levels of diverse learners.
Instrument Exploration
* Introduce students to age\-appropriate instruments such as percussion, rhythm instruments, xylophones, ukuleles, recorders, keyboards, or other classroom instruments.
* Teach proper instrument care and basic performance techniques.
