The department is nationally recognized for innovative management of chest pain, stroke, major trauma, medical management of EMS and for providing medical direction for aeromedical transport. In addition, the Virginia Poison Center is a division component of this department. The VCU Department of Emergency Medicine also provides coverage for a free\-standing Emergency Department serving the rural patient community of New Kent, VA which sees over 15,000 patients per year and community hospitals in Tappahannock, VA and South Hill, VA which see 20,000 patients per year and 25,000 patients per year respectively. Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Emergency Medicine houses an Emergency Medicine 3\-year residency program. We also partner with the Air Force and train their residents as well and are one of the only 12 programs to house a combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine residency program with an additional 2 residents per year. Faculty may be recruited at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor commensurate with experience. **Chief Purpose of this Position:** We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our dynamic academic Emergency Medicine team. The candidate will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care, innovative research, and high\-quality education in Emergency Medicine.
