**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dynamic Medical Receptionist/medical assistant to join our team and serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This energetic role involves managing patient intake, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, taking patients back, going over their history and vitals, assisting in the operating room for procedures, drawing up medicines, scanning, printing, and providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will be organized, tech/computer/tablet\-savvy, and passionate about delivering a positive patient experience in a fast\-paced medical environment.
**Duties**
* Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check\-in and check\-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
* Schedule patient appointments accurately while coordinating with providers’ calendars
* Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical collections with attention to detail
* Maintain and update patient records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards
* Answer multi\-line phone systems professionally, providing clear information and directing calls appropriately
* Assist with Operating room tasks directly during procedures
* Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and managing clinic correspondence
**Qualifications**
* Spanish and or Creole speaking is excellent, and medical office experience is great.
* Familiarity with EMR systems like E clinical works is highly preferred
* Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD\-10/ICD\-9\), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes
* Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and health information management software
* Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
