Job description
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the development of children's social, emotional, and cognitive skills through engaging activities and structured learning experiences.
**Duties**
* An Active FCCPC/CDA or higher
* Must have or be willing to complete required 15 hours of VPK Emergent Literacy training
* Create and implement lesson plans aligned with early childhood development standards and the school’s curriculum
* Educate children on various subjects, including basic math concepts, language skills, and social interactions.
* Observe, assess, and document each child’s growth and development through regular observations and portfolio entries.
* Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
* Create a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration and curiosity.
* Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
* Maintain daily routines and structure to help children thrive in a predictable learning environment.
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and trainings to stay current on best practices in early childhood education
**Requirements**
* Obtain DCF 40 hour childcare staff credential or be willing to complete within 90 days of employment
* Experience working in preschool settings or private schools is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with childhood development principles and practices is essential.
* Previous experience in special education or early intervention programs is a plus.
* Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
