We see EV charging infrastructure as a catalyst for the green transition.</p><p><strong>The Team:</strong></p><p>Join our fully remote team working across three countries, bringing together a diverse group of experts with extensive experience in climate change, mapping science, Earth Observation Technologies, green finance, and advanced technology. As a part of SurplusMap, you'll be collaborating with a senior team committed to driving impactful change.</p><p><strong>The Role:</strong></p><p>As a Full Stack Developer at SurplusMap, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of green infrastructure projects. You will work on all aspects of our product, focusing on:</p><ul> <li>Developing our web application that allows decision-makers to filter and score sites using complex map visualizations.</li> <li>Enhancing our collaboration platform by building features like a commenting/review system to facilitate teamwork.</li> <li>Prototyping machine learning algorithms to extract relevant data from satellite imagery for grid and transport networks.</li> <li>Architecting and developing highly scalable web applications that handle complex data infrastructures and AI models, including machine learning (ML) predictions, geospatial data processing, and leveraging large language models (LLMs).</li> </ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to design, build, and ship new features from scratch.</li> <li>Evaluate and improve the performance, durability, and security of applications in production.</li> <li>Take ownership of tasks, ensuring features are developed from start to finish.</li> <li>Provide and receive constructive feedback during code reviews to enhance team performance.</li> <li>Work on projects in an Agile environment, utilizing 2-week sprints for iterative development.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul> <li>Excellent written and spoken English skills.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in TypeScript, GCP, and React.</li> <li>Experience in programming complex systems from scratch and writing maintainable, scalable code.</li> <li>Ability to work with AI models, machine learning predictions, and complex data infrastructures.</li> <li>Experience with geospatial data processing and leveraging large language models (LLMs).</li> <li>Thorough testing skills and a commitment to improving the work environment.</li> <li>Enjoyment of remote work and collaboration in a virtual team setting.</li> </ul><p><strong>Bonus Points:</strong></p><ul> <li>Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).</li> <li>You live in Oslo or would like to relocate.</li> <li>Passion for making a significant impact on fostering the green transition through EV charging infrastructure.</li> <li>Proficiency with GCP is a big bonus.</li> <li>Familiarity with deployment automation tools.</li> <li>Initiative and a great sense of humor.</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul> <li>Be part of an impact-driven startup with a clear mission to democratize access to geospatial data and drive the green transition.</li> <li>Work on exciting projects in Norway and Europe, contributing to cutting-edge Green Transition initiatives.</li> <li>Join a multicultural team with international ambitions and a shared commitment to environmental sustainability.</li> <li>Flexible working hours and a supportive remote work environment.</li> <li>Opportunities for career growth and development in a deep-tech company.</li> <li>Competitive compensation and equity packages for the right candidate.</li> <li>Preference will be given to candidates in Oslo or those willing to relocate in the short term.</li> </ul>
