Job description

<p>The Field Service Technician will provide technical customer support primarily for Commissioning, AFS and Retrofits for Ingeteam products and other aftersales field service activities as needed.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul> <li>Commissioning</li> <ul> <li>Travel to customer sites and perform commissioning and troubleshooting activities. Travel will be, on average, 60-80% of the time, or as needed.</li> <li>Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely. </li> <li>Coordinate with Field Service Engineer or Supervisor’s direction, along with project/site manager, the completion of day-to-day tasks and any unplanned events.</li> <li>Complete commissioning reports and other documentation and provide them to management.</li> <li>Report any technical questions or changes to work performed to Ingeteam project team.</li> <li>Develop ideas to decrease costs and increase efficiency during commissioning activities.</li> <li>Work with other Ingeteam and subcontracted technicians during commissioning.</li> <li>Upload new/latest FW -Complete expense reports and submit them to management.</li> <li>Inform the customer of any new features and/or product improvements on Ingeteam’s products.</li> </ul><li>Aftersales Support</li> <ul> <li>Travel to customer sites and perform aftersales (AFS) warranty and retrofit activities. Travel will be, on average, 20-40% of the time.</li> <li>Work with Field Service Engineer or Supervisor direction to resolve all Ingeteam scope of supply equipment issues.</li> <li>Travel to site to repair or replace damaged equipment.</li> <li>Request assistance from management if help with aftersales questions is needed.</li> <li>Use test bench to help resolve technical questions or problems.</li> <li>Make sure all documentation, pictures and other related files to an incident are properly stored in the Ingeteam server.</li> <li>Work with customers and management to ensure all required failed equipment gets returned to Ingeteam.</li> <li>Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely.</li> <li>Work with other Ingeteam and subcontracted technicians during AFS and retrofit activities.</li> <li>Develop ideas to decrease costs an increase efficiency during AFS and retrofit activities.</li> <li>Complete expense reports and submit to management.</li> <li>Inform the customer of any new features and/or product improvements on Ingeteam’s products.</li> <li>Follow all H&S and PPE requirements per task.</li> </ul><li>Other responsibilities:<ul> <li>Commissioning assistance at site with other projects as needed.</li> <li>Prepare reports and documents for management.</li> <li>Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures.</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul></li> </ul><p><br></p><p>Requirements/Qualifications:</p><ul> <li>At least one-year experience as an electronics technician preferred. 3+ years’ experience with electronics or power electronics preferred.</li> <li>Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PV & storage systems preferred.</li> <li>Previous solar experience preferred.</li> <li>Electrical knowledge/training required. Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.</li> <li>Must have excellent troubleshooting skills. Must be able to troubleshoot systems with little or no support to achieve customers’ expectations of product uptime.</li> <li>Must be able to troubleshoot new equipment/features solutions provided by Ingeteam.</li> <li>Familiarity with different software interfaces to equipment (e.g. setting static IP address) preferred.</li> <li>Must be able to read/write to an inverter and equipment registers.</li> <li>Must have the ability to understand and analyze Modbus TCP, RTU and CAN communication protocols.</li> <li>Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work with all types of customers and personalities and with different levels of expertise.</li> <li>Experience responding and resolving technical questions over the phone preferred.</li> <li>Must be able and willing to work with colleagues and as a team.</li> <li>Must have good prioritization, organization, analytical and planning skills.</li> <li>Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new situations, have self-control, be self-motivated, have initiative and high integrity.</li> <li>Must be willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally in response to customer calls.</li> <li>Must be available to travel on short notice. Must be able to travel to Corporate Headquarters in Spain for training.</li> <li>Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift 60 pounds, and able to work on your feet for long periods of time.</li> <li>Bending, stooping, crawling, working in limited illumination areas, working in dusty conditions are required.</li> <li>Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.</li> <li>Must have basic computer skills including familiarity with MS Office programs (e.g. Excel and Word).</li> </ul><p><br></p><p>Academic Requirements:</p><ul> <li>Associate degree in a technical field required, preferably in Electronics or Power Electronic</li> <li>Electronics Engineering or solar/PV preferred. 1+ years relevant experience preferred, in lieu of degree.</li> <li>OSHA-10, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR certificates preferred.</li> </ul><p><br></p><p>Benefits:</p><ul> <li>Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance</li> <li>Annual Bonus up to 10%</li> <li>401(K) matching</li> <li>Holidays, Sick Time and Vacation Time</li> <li>Flexible schedule</li> <li>Life Insurance</li> <li>Referral program</li> <li>Tuition reimbursement</li> </ul><p><br></p><p>Full time, 1st shift.</p><p>Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour </p>
