Job description
Davenport Environmental Inc is a regional lawn care and pest control company serving the Carolinas and Georgia. We are seeking a detail\-oriented, highly organized Full Charge Bookkeeper and Office Manager to oversee our financial and administrative operations. In this vital dual role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records through full\-cycle bookkeeping while simultaneously ensuring the smooth daily execution of office administration. This position will report directly to the owner. Key Responsibilities include:
Accounting and Bookkeeping
* Full\-cycle bookkeeping
* Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
* Oversee multi\-state payroll processing, coordinate with third\-party payroll providers and maintain accurate employee records
* Prepare accurate financial statements and assist leadership with budget forecasting
* Tax and compliance: maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations; work in tandem with external CPAs for quarterly reports and year end records
Office Management and Administration
* Coordinate daily operations, filing systems and workflow to maximize operational efficiency
* Serve as primary point of contact for office vendors, building management, and IT support services
* Monitor and order office supplies, equipment, and technology hardware
* HR and onboarding support: assist with new employee onboarding, benefit administration, and maintaining personnel files
Qualifications and Requirements
* Proven experience as a full\-charge bookkeeper (minimum 3 years) and office manager or administrator, or in a similar combined role; similar service industry experience preferred
* A strong understanding of double\-entry bookkeeping, debits/credits and GAAP
* Experience in QuickBooks Desktop as well as Microsoft Office, including Excel
* Exceptional multitasking ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with a demonstr
