Pharmacist

Responsibilities/Job Description: **Location**: UMMC West Bank \- Central Pharmacy**Hours**: 64 hours bi\-weekly**Schedule**: day/evening/night, rotating weekends The Pharmacist is responsible for providing medication management, clinical support and consultative services in a complex pharmacy operation. This position partners with key stakeholders to drive patient and family education, medication safety, quality assurance, customer service, process improvement and regulatory compliance. This position may also participate in education of pharmacy students and residents. **Responsibilities*** Provide clinical, formulary and pharmacotherapy expertise and act as a resource to students, staff and interdisciplinary members of the care team. * Provide clinical pharmacy services to all patients in assigned area using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This includes dispensing of medication, completing review for all patients, monitoring, adjusting patient therapies and documenting changes according to department policies and pharmacy regulations. * Coordinate drug distribution in assigned areas. * Participate in team meetings/discussions with clinical pharmacy specialists, pharmacy residents, pharmacy students and technicians * Foster an environment of teamwork with other department staff and customers * Serve as a preceptor for students and/or pharmacy residents on rotation * Provide training and education to other staff members * Provide customer service focused team approach to internal and external customers * Direct and oversee the drug distribution activities of pharmacy technicians and students * Act as resource for pharmaceutical care to patients, partnering with interdisciplinary care team members to ensure appropriateness of medication order and therapy, drug selection, formulary correctness and compliance any other formulary or departmental initiatives as appropriate. * Accountable for the distribution and/or preparation of medications, sterile produ
