Women \& Infants Services (WIS) is the largest department at BUMCP. Averaging approximately over 6000 deliveries per year, this is a fast\-paced environment. BUMCP is accredited by the Arizona Perinatal Trust as a Level IV Center which certifies that we are qualified to take care of the most high\-risk patient population. The WIS department at BUMCP consists of OB Triage, Labor \& Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum and GYN/Oncology. We are well known for our specialty programs for higher order multiples, placenta accreta management and OB critical care. Throughout the WIS department, there is excellent collaboration between nursing and physicians with quality patient care serving as our focus. Our patient experience scores are among the highest at BUMCP. We are a Magnet facility and the WIS department has been highlighted in many examples for our Magnet redesignations. As an academic medical center, we are actively involved in research, EBP and process improvement. Teaching and training students and new employees are an essential part of our department. As the Postpartum RN, you will be part of the team that provides multidisciplinary obstetrical care to low and high risk postpartum patients and normal newborns. There are 40 postpartum private rooms available and 11 nursery beds. Inpatient services are available 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week. We provide couplet care and encourage family bonding.
