Job description
LUX Catering \& Events is looking for a skilled, confident, and detail\-driven Cook 1 to join our culinary team. This role is designed for a strong culinary professional who is ready to lead from the line, support event execution, and help uphold the high standards our clients expect from LUX.
The Cook 1 position is one of the most advanced culinary roles on our team, working closely with our head chefs while also helping guide and support other cooks. This person should be highly organized, calm under pressure, and confident in both kitchen production and live event execution.* Lead and support daily kitchen production, including prep, cooking, plating, packing, and event execution.
* Delegate tasks to cooks and help maintain an efficient, focused, and positive kitchen workflow.
* Support head chefs with product quality, inventory, organization, and overall kitchen operations.
* Execute events independently as an Event Chef when needed.
* Prepare and oversee high\-quality dishes that meet LUX culinary standards.
* Demonstrate strong skills in grilling, protein fabrication, plating, and presentation.
* Check mise en place and ensure all event products are packed accurately and on time.
* Serve as a final quality checkpoint for food leaving the kitchen when head chefs are not present.
* Assist with tastings, taste testing, and overall quality control.
* Help train, mentor, and support developing culinary team members.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen, including deep cleaning standards and proper food handling practices.
* Communicate clearly with chefs, kitchen team members, and event teams to ensure smooth execution.
**Qualifications**
* Strong culinary experience in a fast\-paced kitchen, catering, restaurant, or event environment.
* Proven leadership ability with experience guiding or mentoring kitchen team members.
* Advanced knife skills and experience with grilling, protein fabrication, plating, and event production.
